FW: Zone 5 Community Update: Week of December 14th-20th
I apologize for not sending this report out sooner. Please read the notes below from the Commander. Monica From: Lando, Jason Sent: Monday, December 21, 2015 5:08 PM Subject: Zone 5 Community Update: Week of December 14th-20th Good afternoon, Zone 5 Neighbors! Attached you will find this week's Community Crime Update. I also wanted to give two updates on violent crimes that occurred this week, since many of you have been asking. First, the robbery and shooting that occurred in the 5600 block of Wellesley Street on December 16th. Our GVI (Group Violence Intervention) Unit has been working hard on this case. The suspects are a white male and a white female. The detectives HAVE IDENTIFIED two suspects in this case. Additional interviews are necessary before I can announce suspect names, but as soon as I am able to release that information I will. Second, many of you heard about the triple homicide that we had early this morning in the 200 block of S. Mathilda. At this time, I can tell you that this appears to have been a TARGETED home invasion. This was NOT a random act. While you should always take precaution and lock your doors, these particular victims were not arbitrarily chosen like many burglaries we see. Because the investigation is ongoing and much still needs to be done, I am unable to provide more details at this time. Please understand when we do not release details, it is strictly to protect the integrity of the investigation. We would hate to lose a case in court and see a violent individual walk free because we inadvertently leaked confidential information. On a happier note, I hope all of you have a safe and happy holiday and Merry Christmas! Jason -- Cmdr.
