The closure is needed for access and safety as crews demolish part of the Millville Industrial Park along Route 28. The closure will occur from 8 p.m. on Wednesday through 5 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, on Route 28 between the 31st Street Bridge and the 40th Street Bridge. Signs will be posted to guide motorists. Posted detour: Northbound (outbound) * Turn right onto the 31st Street Bridge * Make left onto Liberty Avenue * Continue north onto Butler Street * Make left onto 40th Street Bridge * End detour at northbound Route 28 Southbound (inbound) * Make left on the 40th Street Bridge * Right onto Butler Street * Follow Butler Street south to Penn Avenue * Continue on Penn Avenue to 31st Street Bridge * Cross bridge and end detour at southbound Route 28. Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and allow extra time when traveling through the area. The $23.5 million Route 28 East Ohio Street Improvement Project 40th Street Bridge work includes widening and reconstruction, drainage, concrete barrier, concrete curb and sidewalk, highway lighting, signing and pavement marking, sign structures, signals and ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) installation, wall construction, water line and sewer relocation, demolition, and other construction from about 1,300 feet north of the 31st Street Bridge (Route 2122) intersection to approximately 2,560 feet north of the 40th Street Bridge (Route 2124) interchange. The Trumbull Corporation of Pittsburgh is the prime contractor.
