[Highland Park] HPCC Meeting this Thursday
Please join us Thursday, Sept 20th at 7 PM at St. Andrew's Church for the next monthly Highland Park Community Council meeting. This month, we will be having an HPCC-wide vote for new Directors and new Board members for 2012-2013; we will have preview of some changes to the HPCC by-laws, which are needed to support our transition to becoming a 501(c)3 and which will formally voted on during our October meeting; and we will be reviewing HPCC's finances from our 2011-2012 fiscal year. We are also tentatively slated to have City Councilman Patrick Dowd come and speak with us regarding a couple of issues related to our community and its priorities. We look forward to seeing you there! Eric D. Randall, HPCC President
I wanted to let everybody know that (a) we have now confirmed that Patrick Dowd will be able to join us, and (b) I have asked Patrick to speak about a couple of specific issues. One is that there are some changes being considered to the Natoli and Heth's playgrounds (to redistribute the mix of sports teams that currently use each field), and Patrick will be able to provide some perspective on what the overall changes might be and what the process, including formal/public community input, is shaping up to be. Second, Patrick recently approached the HPCC board to ask us about identifying two or three top priorities for our neighborhood that City Council can help with, and we felt it would be great for Patrick to reiterate this request to the neighborhood at large.
