In August 2007, 16-year-old Demi Cuccia, a cheerleader at Gateway High School, was brutally murdered by her boyfriend for trying to end their relationship. This unthinkable act rocked a community who thought that something like this could never happen to them. Were there warning signs? Absolutely. But they went unrecognized. Learn to identify the warning signs of teen dating violence that can help you save the life of a friend, a loved one, or even you. A free public performance of Everything Is Fine, a Prime Stage Theatre play about teen dating violence, on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. The compelling 45-minute play is written and performed by teens with the goal of raising awareness about abusive teen relationships and the warning signs. A discussion will be held after the play with the teen cast plus staff from local violence prevention organizations.
