[Highland Park] Highland Park & Bagpipes
For the 170th time in our congregational history and the 101st time here in Highland Park, the Episcopal Church of St. Andrew the Apostle will observe our patronal festival in a day of much celebration -- this coming Sunday, November 18th, 2007. Our guests, as often in recent years, will be our fabulous and gifted friends of the Syria Highlanders Pipe and Drum Corps. The Highlanders will gather in the St. Andrew's Churchyard (on Hampton Street between North St. Clair and North Euclid) at 10:40 a.m. for a "pre-service" concert. At 11 a.m. there will be a grand procession, and a service of Choral Morning Prayer featuring St. Andrew's Choir, under the direction of Peter Luley, and St. Andrew's Church School Children's Chorus, under the direction of Ellen Spondike and Dan Sweeney. Following the service a Gala Reception will be held in Brooks Hall. Neighbors and friends are always invited -- to join us for the service and reception, if you can, or simply to come by before to enjoy the music in the churchyard . . . . BruceR
