Neighbors, the unthinkable but inevitable has happened. Paul Pirollo has retired and closed his barber shop on Sheridan Avenue. He is 91, and due to age and health concerns, this decision was unavoidable. For those who don't know Paul, he emigrated from Italy following WWII, and is a Korean War veteran, himself. He has cut hair in East Liberty (because at the time, it was impossible to rent a place in the hotbed of commerce, Larimer Avenue) for more than half a century. Paul would like all of his friends, neighbors, and customers to know that he thanks you, and sincerely appreciates you.
Shocking news indeed, Jeff. I know the family well, having lived across the street(Winterton) from Paul's brother Chester and his family for many years, though hadn't heard of this development. Paul is a local dignitary in my eyes, having served the community from his barber chair for so many years. However, he took no accolades, even when KDKA did a feature on him last summer. http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2016/08/10/90-year-old-barber-sees-community-... Ciao Uncle Paul, you're be sorely missed! Hi everyone, You can send cards and such to the barber shop, and they will reach Paul (at least for the next few weeks, I assume). The address is: Paul Pirollo 722 N. Sheridan Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15206 As for the reason he's retiring, I wish to respect his privacy and simply relay the message he asked me to share: Age and health concerns. He is 91. If anyone wants to email a brief message to Paul, I will collect them and print them out for him (or read them to him over the phone). I will probably see him in the next week or two (I've lived next door to the barber shop for the better part of 15 years). -Jeff Guerrero On Sun, Sep 24, 2017 at 11:58 AM, Jeff Guerrero <guerrero.jeff@gmail.com> wrote: Neighbors, the unthinkable but inevitable has happened.
