Bagpipes on Sunday! Our Patronal Feast . . . .
At St. Andrew's: Founded 1837, at 5801 Hampton Street in Highland Park since 1906 . . .. Our Parish Custom is to celebrate our Patronal Festival, the Feast of St. Andrew the Apostle, on the Sunday before the Thanksgiving Holiday. On Sunday, November 22nd, then, "St. Andrew, Observed," our services will be the Holy Communion at 9 a.m. in the Chapel and a festival, choral service of Morning Prayer and the Holy Communion at 11 a.m. in the Church. The Rector will preside and preach, and we will be joined at the later service by our good friends of the Syria Highlanders Pipe and Drum Band. Weather permitting, the Highlanders will begin at about 10:45 a.m. in front of the Church. Our 10 a.m. Coffee and Conversation Hour, downstairs in Barley Hall, will invite reflections on the topic, "How I came to St. Andrew's, and what this community means to me." All welcome! A classic Pittsburgh "Cookie Table" will be the centerpiece of a refreshment hour following both services. (And if you can add to the Cookie Table, thank you! Please bring contributions to Brooks Hall before service on Sunday.) http://www.standrewspgh.org http://revbmrobison.blogspot.com/
