I wrote almost two weeks ago about the upcoming replacement of Heth's Run bridge by PennDOT. The Highland Park Community Club voted at its January meeting to authorize David Hance and Lisa Williams, presidents of the Community Club and the Highland Park CDC, respectively, to write a letter supporting the CDC's efforts to make sure the replacement is historically and architecturally appropriate. As of this week, the "Bridges & Tunnels of Allegheny County" web site at <http://pghbridges.com/> has added an entry for the ailing bridge. It includes a picture of the bridge from 1915, when the bridge was just a year old. You can search using the link above, or just use the following one to view it directly: <http://pghbridges.com/pittsburghE/0591-4482/heths_run.htm> While you're there, take a look at the rest of the site. It really is a great source of information about some of the important structures in our area. Rudy
