[Highland Park] Bryant Street update
Hi again Group! This group is different than other groups that I have belonged to. You can only receive individual email's from members. This makes it a little hard for the other members to know what some of the responses are to questions given to the group. Maybe I'm missing something, but I wish I could show you all the wonderful responses that I received in regard to one simple question about my Grandparents street address on Bryant St. The response has been amazing to say the least, especially from such a small group. One of you, and I won't name names, unless this person tells me that it is ok,, has even found my Grandfather's son and daughter for me. You talk about amazing! This person used to babysit for a doctor who lived next door and told me that this doctor has a sister who is a well known artist are both alive and live in Squirrel Hill and Highland Park!! Can you believe that! First let me explain. My Grandparents were married to each other when they both were older. My Grandfather's kids, (before marrying my Grandmother), were the doctor, the artist and I believe their is another one named Milton. My Grandmother married my Grandfather and they lived in Highland Park. I believe that before this time, my Grandfather and his late wife lived in Squirrel Hill. My Grandmother who was married before marrying Sam Reznik, was married to BLOOM. That is my name until this very day. My Grandmother's first husband, (Bloom), I don't know anything about. But, he would have been my true Grandfather. My Dad, Sam Irving Bloom was my Grandmother's ONLY child. My dad died when I was just 5 years old, but my much older sisters remember all the details that I don't. My Mother can't give me any details either because she died when I was 15. So at a very young age, I lost anyone who could tell me anything about my Dad and his Family. Ok, I know this is more information than anticipated by any. But, I am convinced now that I was meant to join this group because along with the tons of information to try and help me from all of you,, I also found someone who knows my Grandfather Reznik's children who are now in their late 70's if not 80's. This group has amazed me and blown me away with the amount of help and links sent my way. How special you all are!! I can not thank you enough! I am going to devote some time to looking up and contacting people and whatever I can now to find my roots. I will email the group again soon to let you know what I find out since you helped start me on this journey. I started off just asking about my Grandparents street address, and it seems now I am looking for much more. I want to know about my father Sam Bloom and since he was an only child and I don't know what happened to his father, that is going to be a hard journey to make. But, the Reznik children might be a good place to start. Thank you and sorry for such a long and maybe confusing email. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Marlene Bloom
