Hello all, my name is Laurie Sloan and I am part of the Children's Committee with the Highland Park Community Council. Myself and another local resident, Elisa Lucke, have been running children's events over the past several years and would like to gather a few more volunteers to help us continue to run these types of activities, especially at a time when so many families with young children are moving into and exploring our neighborhood! Each month we hold an activity that is not only fun for kids, but allows parents and caregivers the space and time to meet other local families. Our next event will be at the Bryant Street Festival (6/4), followed by the Highland Park Hullabaloo (6/22), and then the July 4th Parade. We also run an activity each Sunday evening of August at Reservoir of Jazz and have some exciting events planned for this Fall. In order to make these events as successful as possible, we need some extra help implementing the activities and spreading the word about each event!
