Tree Giveaway in North Park
Hi Highland Park Neighbors! Tree Pittsburgh is giving away 1,000 trees THIS WEEKEND in North Park. We're working with the Arbor Day Foundation and FedEx with support from Peoples and Allegheny County Parks on this initiative. These trees are one part of a larger effort to recover the tree canopy lost from the emerald ash borer, which caused the loss of acres and acres of trees in Allegheny County. Register for your trees here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pittsburgh-tree-recovery-campaign-tickets-37462... Trees *must* be picked up Saturday, October 7 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. North Park Ice Rink We cannot make arrangements for trees to be picked up at another time or another location. The tree giveaway is open to all residents of Allegheny County, with a limit of 2 trees/household. The trees given away will be in 2-gallon containers (3-4 feet tall), and will grow to be large shade trees. Species in the giveaway include riverbirch, larch, sycamore, hackberry, umbrella magnolia, white oak, yellow buckeye, sweetgum, and black gum. Please let me know if you have any questions.
