Greetings Highland Park neighbors, This month, please join us on an adventure to China. Our visiting guest speaker, Jayne Keffer will lead us on a pictorial journey to China, to their famed Scholar Gardens. We meet: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (with the presentation on Chinese Gardens beginning at 11:00 am.) Saturday, April 21, 2018 at The Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. During her many trips to China, Jayne became fascinated with their Scholar Gardens. She was initially drawn to their beauty. However, as she immersed herself in studying and leaning about more about them, her appreciation and awe deepened. The more she learned and studied, the more intrigued she became. You can see beauty in the gardens, but as you study and learn more about them your knowledge deepens. During her presentation Jayne will explain the five elements of a Chinese garden. She will show various photos of each of those elements that she has taken during her many trips. We may all learn new design techniques that we could incorporate into our own spaces.
