If you're having trouble viewing this email, you may see it online . Share This: July 1, 2011 Family and Community Programs Summer with Venture Outdoors has officially begun! We had our first family festival on Saturday, June 25th and there was a lot of fun to be had. Refusing to let the previous night's rain showers stop us from getting outside, participants engaged in all activities with full bravado! New to the family festivals this summer is the bike rodeo, an obstacle course which challenges the skills of our junior bike riders. We also had jump roping, the climbing wall, bike tours, geocaching, arts n' crafts and a Dougie contest in which our junior explorers danced it out to the end! If you missed this outdoor explosion of fun, don't worry, we're doing it again this month on the 23rd at McKinley Park. I look forward to seeing you there! We want to thank our sponsor Highmark, and all the exhibitors for coming out and supporting our festival. We also want to thank A+ Schools, Highmark, the YMCA and Wendy's for the raffle donations to be enjoyed by many kids and families! Free Community Festivals! Join us for an afternoon of outdoor fun for the whole family! Venture Outdoors Family and Community Programs will host three Free Community Festivals this summer. Each event will be filled with beginner-friendly activities for your family or community group from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM! Try scaling a climbing wall, paddling a kayak on Lake Elizabeth, using a GPS unit to find secret treasures or biking around the park. Food, dancing and music by Pittsburgh's favorite DJ Nick Nice will be offered at the event. Join us for all three festivals or the one in your area. Festival Dates and Locations: Saturday, July 23 - McKinley Park Saturday, August 27 - Allegheny Commons Click here for more details on each festival!
