Hi - My KitchenAid is only about 10 years old. We overloaded it with dough once; it never worked consistently afterward, and now doesn't turn on at all. I'm hoping to find either someone / somewhere that fixes them; or if I can't find someone to fix it, see if there's someone who'd want it for themselves to try and fix it.
