[Highland Park] New Year's Intentions

New Year's Intentions I don't like New Year's resolutions and I have never made them. I'm not being snooty when I say this. I just find that making a large and lofty statement like them(example: I am *NEVER* eating a whole Ben and Jerry's pint of ice cream again!), you are setting yourself up to feel bad(because you know at some point that ice cream will be calling you again). Rather, I like to set *intentions. *The dictionary defines intention as 'an aim or purpose' and 'the thing that you plan to do or achieve'. And for some reason this just feels less intimidating and it feels like it opens up more space to grow into whatever I am trying to achieve. Some of my intentions for 2014 are: My intention is to let go of my need to control. My intention is to be my most evolved and authentic self. My intention is to really pay attention and listen to the signs, my inner guidance and other people. My intention is to trust that all is on my side. They might seem kind of heady, but they are really powerful, especially when said out loud or written out on a regular basis. And they can create powerful changes if one is open to letting them. For example, because of my intention to let go of my need to control I allow myself to go with the flow when a client cancels and I was counting on that money....which then ties into my intention to trust that all is on my side and trusting that it will work out and that I will always have enough. My intention to really listen to other people is extremely helpful in my profession and as a mother. My intention to pay attention to my inner guidance reminds me that yoga and a healthy dinner after work are probably better than frozen pizza and that pint of ice cream. Just the simple act of setting them or even thinking them can open us up to powerful changes and energy. Maybe your intentions will send you in the direction ofscheduling a massage<http://www.allisonburdmassage.com/schedule-online.html> in the next few weeks? I look forward to reconnecting with all of you in 2014 and hope your year is starting off peaceful and healthy. follow on Twitter <https://www.twitter.com/allisonburd1/> | friend on Facebook<http://us6.campaign-archive1.com/?u=84270330896a51ccb18154373&id=c4226c5771&e=953aad5ddb#> | forward to a friend<http://us6.forward-to-friend1.com/forward?u=84270330896a51ccb18154373&id=c4226c5771&e=953aad5ddb> *Copyright (c) 2014 Allison Crawford Massage, All rights reserved.* [image: Email Marketing Powered by MailChimp]<http://www.mailchimp.com/monkey-rewards/?utm_source=freemium_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=monkey_rewards&aid=84270330896a51ccb18154373&afl=1> unsubscribe from this list<http://allisoncrawfordmassage.us6.list-manage.com/unsubscribe?u=84270330896a51ccb18154373&id=16a1bfdd51&e=953aad5ddb&c=c4226c5771> | update subscription preferences<http://allisoncrawfordmassage.us6.list-manage.com/profile?u=84270330896a51ccb18154373&id=16a1bfdd51&e=953aad5ddb> -- Allison Burd, LMT allisonburdmassage.com <http://www.allisonburdmassage.com/> eastendedenpgh.com allisonburd.com 412-418-5843
