[Highland Park] Free tickets to Renaissance City Winds concert
I have two tickets I'm not using for the Renaissance City Winds/Cuarteto Latinamericano conert on Thursday night at CMU. Should be a GREAT concert ! They're yours for the asking -- I can call and have the tickets waiting in your name, so there is no pick up necessary. Information about the concert is below ....... Cuarteto Latinoamericano/Renaissance City Winds SEASON FINALE, special collaborative concert Thursday, April 24, 2008 8pm, Carnegie Mellon College of Fine Arts, Kresge Theater MARTINU: Nonet CAMBINI: Wind Quintet No. 1 in B-flat Major CHAO-JUNG WU: String Quartet (world premiere) Mark your calendar -- the season finale is a one-performance collaboration with the acclaimed Cuarteto Latinoamericano from Mexico. The ensembles will join forces for the delightful neoclassical Nonet by Czech composer Bohuslav Martinu. The Winds will perform Quintet No. 1 by Giuseppe Cambini and the Cuarteto will premiere a new quartet by CMU graduate student Chao-Jung Wu. The Cuarteto Latinoamericano is known worldwide as the leading proponent of Latin American music for string quartet. It has recorded for Elan, New Albion, Urtext and Dorian, and was nominated for a Grammy in 2002. Due to the HUGE (25 requests and counting !) response I had for the free tickets to the the Renaissance City Winds/Cuarteto Latinamericano conert on Thursday night at CMU, I called the RCWinds people and arranged for $5 tickets for any Highland Parker who wants to attend.
