To all of my Highland Park neighbors, you might enjoy these photos from Pittsburgh between 1978-1981. November will be a nostalgia month. Recently I’ve been revisiting a project that I did between 1978-1981, photographing my home town with a view camera. Those cameras are the old fashion looking things, mounted on a large tripod with a black cloth over my head to focus on the ground glass of the camera, making one exposure at a time on a 4 x 5 inch sheet of film. Most likely, if you’re you’re an old time Pittsburgher, these will be quite nostalgic to see how the landscape and neighborhoods have changed. If you’re never been to this city, I think the imagery still resonates. Here is a link to the new work.. https://daschkenasphoto.com/New-Work/1 <https://daschkenasphoto.com/New-Work/1> Last year BLIND magazine featured some of this work, and my dear friend Abby Mendelson, ( Pittsburgh’s best author) wrote a beautiful piece to accompany the photos. That feature can be seen here.. https://www.blind-magazine.com/stories/historic-pittsburgh-a-grimy-wonderlan... <https://www.blind-magazine.com/stories/historic-pittsburgh-a-grimy-wonderland/> Enjoy the Fall, get your Flu shots, Stay Well. As always, THANKS FOR LOOKING. David -- David Aschkenas 915 N. Euclid Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15206 412-363-3458 www.daschkenasphoto.com
