They will learn how to integrate clay and fibers, practice the African tradition of Mangbetu Pressed Coils, and use additive and subtractive techniques to alter the surface of clay. This class is designed for children ages 5-8. Instructor: Cynthia Blackwell of the Pittsburgh Gifted Center. Cost $175. * Youth Clay Class * 3 Saturdays, Nov 7-21, 9-11 am Wouldn’t it be nice to keep the kids busy while you shop and clean for the holidays? Drop them off at Union Project for a three week ceramics class! Students will create wtih clay each week, and learn basic hand-building and sculpture techniques.
