[Highland Park] Fwd: FW: Pittsburgh Green Forum invite
This is an exciting event being coordinated by the Urban Ecology Collaborative - Pittsburgh. Please pass this invitation on to anyone you think might be interested, and register soon! Yours, Gudrun Wells. The Pittsburgh Green Forum is being developed by the Green Vacant Land Working Group, a project of the Mayor's Office, City of Pittsburgh. The Urban Ecology Collaborative (UEC) has been asked to host this Forum with funding from the Sprout Fund in order to contribute to the Redd Up initiative to ultimately make Pittsburgh one of the Nation's cleanest and greenest cities by 2010. The goal of the Forum is to solidify commitment on all levels - from grassroots to government - for greening as a tool for increased economic development, healthier communities and improved quality of life in the City of Pittsburgh. *The **Pittsburgh** Green Forum for Vacant Land Revitalization* . Training for Green Forum facilitators and note takers, Wed. Oct 25th, 6 pm @ the Pittsburgh Project (where the Green Forum will be held, Nov. 2nd and 3rd… see Forum Design for agenda). During the two days of the Forum we will need help with small group facilitation and note takers. We want to capture all the community input we can to be sure that this is a dynamic participatory community-wide process. The CORO Fellows of Pittsburgh will serve as most of the small group facilitators but a few more are needed. Mainly we will need note takers (26) and people willing to serve as guides (12) to the large numbers of community residents who will attend the Forum. People will be invited from all of the 88 Pittsburgh Neighborhoods and folks can sign up to attend on the City Redd Up Campaign Website. To commit to volunteer for one or both days of the Green Forum, contact Erin Copeland via email ecopeland@pittsburghparks.org or call 412.682.7275. Once again, the *training for Green Forum facilitators and note takers will be, Wed. Oct 25th, **6 pm** @ the **Pittsburgh** Project* . Directions attached. Hope to see you there. Please pass this on to folks you think may be interested in greening issues in Pittsburgh . -- Gudrun Wells Volunteer Education Coordinator Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy 412 682 7275 x212
