The Learning Club in Highland Park introduces: Summer 2003 Learning Clubs Don't let your child's active and happy brain sleep the summer away! In our Clubs, they are certain to have lots of fun and do lots of thinking at the same time. We've put together a set of clubs that will accommodate almost any interest. Choose one or choose them all! - Designed to catch the attention of youth. - Variety of different clubs from which to choose - Multi-disciplinary including some reading, math, and technology. - Aligned with local, state, and national standards. All Clubs meet between 9:00 am until 12:00 noon for six weeks on the days listed. All Clubs are $135 per six week session. Multiple club/sibling price is $120 per six week session. "The 1600 Club" Meets every Monday from July 7th until August 11th. Planning on scoring 1600 on the SAT in 5 years? Start now and increase your brain power with a morning of puzzles, games, and videos. Increase your vocabulary with Scrabble and etymology, or improve writing by playing chess. "The Book Club" Meets every Tuesday from July 8th until August 12th. Bring your favorite books to life! Write a play and direct its performance, create poems, dioramas, or even your own newspaper stories. You decide. All this FUN while completing reading requirements for next year. "The Math Club" Meets every Wednesday from July 9th until August 13th. If you don't use it, you lose it. That won't happen with in this club! Create exciting projects using math skills and play intriguing games while flexing your math muscles. "The Young Entrepreneurs Club" Meets every Thursday from July 10th until August 14th. Think about your favorite shop, store, or restaurant. Ever wonder how it got there? You'll be in the know in this club. Learn what it takes to run a company. Along the way, we'll visit many businesses and hear how they started. Maybe one day we'll visit your company. "Young Athlete's Club: The Science of Baseball" Meets every Saturday from July 12th until August 16th Get your bats and gloves and get ready to play ball. Ever wonder what makes a curve ball curve? Why the ball flies farther in Coors Field? Just what is the difference between a 90 mph and a 95 mph fastball? Why is a spitball illegal?
