[Highland Park] Girl Scouts having pet supply drive for Animal Rescue League
Hello Neighbors, Jr. Girl Scout Troop 54281 from St. Andrew's Church, is having a *PET SUPPLY DRIVE* to help our pet friends at the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania on Hamilton Ave. The supply drive is running from Wednesday, November 2 through November 30. *Drop off points are at St. Andrew's Church on Hampton St; the Walnut Street Market on Bryant St; and at the front door of 915 Farragut Street. * The Girl Scouts are having the supply drive as their community based Take Action Project on their way to earning their troop Bronze Award. The Scouts already made 80 cat toys out of old socks, fiber fill, and cat nip. The goal is to collect 365 items. Below are the most immediate: - dog and cat food - Science Diet is preferred - ceramic and metal pet food bowls - pet friendly de-icing salt - leashes and collars - guinea pig, hamster, gerbil and parakeet food - cat and dog toys - dog sweaters for the smaller dogs - vegetable baby food for the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center The Take Action Project helps the Girl Scouts learn about setting and achieving goals and working as a team.
