Does anybody know why this box of free stuff suddenly showed up today on the rear corner of my property, at Jackson Street and Samantha Way? It’s a lovely sentiment to put free stuff out for people in need to take, and I donate items and money all the time, but (1) not sure why you would put it on my property instead of your own, (2) why tuck it down a side street and alley way instead of placing it one block up on a major road (Negley) where people will actually see it, and (3) it’s filled with individual bags of seasonally inappropriate things - thick socks, gloves, hand warmers, etc. I consider this litter on my sidewalk, which I’m responsible for keeping clear, so now I’m the one who will be taking the box to a place where these items can actually be distributed and put into use (although probably not until next winter) - a homeless shelter.
