[Highland Park] Social Media. (sans wine. #sorry)
Greetings HP'ers and fellow East End residents! I hope that this finds you well. I've enjoyed getting to meet some of you through these opportunities. I'm hosting another introductory class from 10am to 12 noon on Thursday, 28 February at the Union Project. This is an introduction to social media, branding, communication, and how it will effect us and our organizations. Our business practices, methods, ethics, etc. will all become accountable to others via social media. Things are changing drastically, and keeping up can be overwhelming! Maybe you can't afford consulting, or don't know where to start; this class is designed to be step towards filling that gap. Here's what you will walk away with: - Knowing the difference between social mediums and "traditional mediums" - Differences in expectations and practice in marketing as it pertains to the above - Having learned by doing! Navigating your account/s as a business (as different than personally) on whatever platform/s we use - Specific needs as defined by group via questionnaire or during the seminar Bring your notebook/laptop or tablet, although the former is better. A smartphone will get you through in a pinch, if that's your only portable device. (If you have more than one, bring them! Things appear different on different devices.) Sign up by joining the public Facebook event, or email me (address below). We have limited space in the Board Room, so reserving your spot will be most helpful. The cost for sign up is $25 preregistered, and $30 at the door. I'll have a receipt available for your for tax purposes as well. #BigBrotherIsWatching <#> Cash and check accepted; credit card is also accepted at the door. (Payment is due at signup to hold your spot and keep the pre-pay rate, up to Wed., February 27th. Payment rendered on the 28th will be at the $25 rate. Contact to arrange payment.)
