[Highland Park] Attention gardeners
ATTENTION GARDENERS! We are Bringing Back Fulton Elementary Garden and need your help. Some of you might be familiar with how vibrant, beautiful and healthy the garden was in front of Fulton Elementary some years back. It has not been properly cared for, but still has perennials that will bounce back with some TLC and know how. There are (at least) irises, day lilies, chocolate mint, peonies, fennel and rose bushes. We will be looking for help from the school, local businesses and the like, but you can help now. Contact me if: If you have time to help me recognize what's in there and how to approach clean up If you have gardening tools to donate If you have an extra trellis or two to donate for the climbing rose bushes If you would like to help with clean up Once the garden is in shape again, it will not only be a point of pride for the neighborhood, but will be an invitation to Fulton students to learn about gardening, weather, science and art. It is my hope that teachers will use the garden again for lessons or just to get out of the classroom. For those who have contacted the school about cleaning up the garden, please be patient as we go forward with this project. Thank you. Margot
