It worked with my ipod touch generation 1, but when I had to replace the ipod with a generation 2, the remote would not work reliably-- about 75% of the time, I would get a message:"this accessory is not supported." sometimes it would control volume, sometimes forward and reverse, sometimes nothing. The electric part worked, though. I finally replaced it with an apple brand. I had to keep the square plug part and I kept the red white yellow wire. The usb wire and and s-video wire come with it.
