Hey, neighbors! We hope that everyone who celebrates is having a wonderful holiday season! If you have a cut, live tree in your house or yard, please know you *cannot *put it out curbside, or it will end up in the landfill. However, you can support local scouts by making a donation to have your tree picked up curbside at your house. 100% of these donations go directly to the scouts who are picking up your tree, AND you don’t need to mess with it: WIN/WIN. Our troop will be collecting trees this year on January 11, 2026. Here is our sign up link for *Highland Park, Morningside, East Liberty and Larimer*: https://forms.gle/iwRmonhdiGniUFMw9 Our Girl Scout troop started this years ago, but many other Girl Scouts troops and also a couple of Scouting America troops now are offering this through most of the East End. We are very proud of the program that we have built, and that the program now extends to a big chunk of the City of Pittsburgh, with other troops also collecting trees. Last year, the combined effort kept over 325 trees out of the landfill and saved families the drive to drop the tree off, and the folks in these neighborhoods have been the cornerstone of this program's success! The overall effort from the city kept over 2500 trees out of the landfill: great job!
