Our partner Opera Theater of Pittsburgh <http://otsummerfest.org/> will present segments of the new jazz opera - A Gathering of Sons followed by a Talkback that will help further craft the opera. It takes us on a journey through the lives of a young Black man, a white police officer, a pair of Black parents, and a collection of spirits who watch over the world. Creative Conversation serves the purpose of fostering a safe space to have ongoing dialogues on justice and inequity in our communities, using art as a means to stimulate discourse. Opera Theater of Pittsburgh will be performing segments of the opera, followed by a Talkback with the performers, members of the creative team, and selected panelists. The Creative Conversation is facilitated by community leaders guiding participants in important conversations around agape love, finding and defining community, and inclusion. Through the series, we hope to grow people’s capacity to address issues of inequity in our community. Join us on Monday, December 5 for the last Creative Conversation of 2016.
