Hi Neighbors and Friends, If it’s August there must be music in the park. Reservoir of Jazz is here, courtesy of Pittsburgh Citiparks and the Highland Park Community Council. The weather is looking to be beautiful, so bring your lawn chair and and relax in the park. The performance begins at 5pm and concludes at 7pm. Our performer for this Sunday is jazz pianist, composer and leader Jeff Lashway. Originally from Pittsburgh, Jeff was pianist with the late Maynard Ferguson and has performed with many Pittsburgh jazz legends such as Kenny Blake, Roger Humphries and Joe Negri. He has performed all over the United States, Canada and Europe. We are fortunate to have him perform for us this weekend. Everyday’s a Sundae in East Liberty will be serving food during the event. Available this week will be: Hot Sausage with Peppers and Onions Fruit Cups Pasta Salad Cups Meat, Cheese and Crackers Cups Iced Tea LaScolla’s Italian Ice, soon to be opening a storefront in Highland Park, will be serving dessert: Italian ice Frozen custard Coffee custard floats Brownies with custard Lemonade Iced coffee Cold water There will be children’s activities provided by the Highland Park Community Council and we will be conducting a 50/50 raffle during the show.
