Our regularly scheduled "First Thursday of the Month" 8 p.m. service of Choral Evensong at St. Andrew's will this month observe Candlemas, the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord in the Temple and of the Purification of St. Mary the Virgin, "translated" from Monday, February 2 (which was the 40th Day of Christmastide!). In the service the Choir will be singing the Ave Maria of Tomas Luis de Victoria, the Johannes Eccard anthem, When to the Temple Mary went, and canticles from the service in B Minor by T. Tertius Noble. The service is followed by a musical recital. Sung-Im Kim, piano, and Christopher Scherer, violin, will play the W.A. Mozart Sonata for Piano and Violin KV 481.
