The Highland Park Garden Club of Pittsburgh presents: *A Fairy Garden Workshop Fiesta* Saturday May 15, 2021 10:00 am - noon (Rain date May 16, 2021 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm) Would you like to have woodland fairies, water fairies, construction fairies, mischievous fairies, or fairy princesses living in your garden? They might already be there! Please join us for a fairy-friendly workshop in which you'll learn how to create a special home for all the fairies you’d like to invite to live comfortably in your garden. *The workshop will be held outdoors at the **Bryant Street Parklet (intersection of Bryant Street and N. Euclid Avenue in Highland Park). * *Space is limited to 12, so registration is required. * If you are already a HPGC member and plan to attend: Please register promptly by emailing hpgcpgh@gmail.com <HPGCPGH@gmail.com>. Up to two children between the ages of 5 and 11 are free per adult donation, and must be accompanied by an adult for the entire the workshop. For the class we will provide soil, tin or plastic containers, fairy furniture, small toys, pebbles, wood and some small plants. Other plants and supplies will also be available of purchase at the workshop. Participants are welcome to bring their own preferred pots and any of their own small items they’d like to include. Found items, including old plates, planters, miniature figures, tiny houses, fences or castles, rocks, moss, small plants are all useful fairy garden components. Bring any extras for swapping! Picnic tables and benches will be available as workspaces. The Parklet is open to the weather, so please bring hats, sunblock, drinking water and other accessories you might need to remain healthy, safe and comfortable. *Face masks and social distancing will be required.* The workshop will be led by Rachel Kudrick, Highland Park Garden Club's horticulturalist. Rachel was trained as a teacher of the deaf. After several years in that field, she went back to school for horticulture. She's been working in that field for 18 years. Her work has included teaching horticulture to future professionals, working as an orchid grower for seven years, owning a landscaping business & designing & creating garden spaces for individuals & organizations. Most recently, she developed a curriculum called *From Planning to Canning*, which teaches all aspects of gardening to anyone interested: beginner through expert.
