On Sunday June 1, 2003 from 9:00 am through whenever we want to quit, we will once again invite all of our Pittsburgh area neighbors to Highland Park for the 80-100 yard sales that will be going on in Highland Park. The Highland Park Yard Sale brings about 1000 people from throughout the area into our beautiful neighborhood to buy our used stuff, collectibles, junk and whatever. Some people sell food in addition to their yard sale items, some organizations use this as an opportunity for a fund raiser (the Union Project and the St. Andrew's Youth Group for example). The more participants, the merrier. For the low, low price of $12, the Community Club takes care of the advertising (on light poles, in newspapers and in the Pennysaver in the East End and North), the typing of lists of items for sale and the preparation of a map of participating homes. In addition, the Community Club provides sellers with balloons and signs to show that they are part of the sale, and volunteers to hand out the maps and lists.
