also available online at http://unionproject.org/About_Us/News THIS FRIDAY - URBAN FUSION LIVE Join the Union Project for the 2nd Month of Urban Fusion Live, our new First Friday music series featured local artists. This month local singer/songwriters Clark Slater, Tony Lee, and Todd Adleff will take the stage, Friday, March 2nd at 8pm. The three performers of the evening have gained fans and acclaim both locally and nationally. Tickets for the Urban Fusion Live concerts are priced at $5 for adults and$3 for children under the age of 13, free for children 5 and under, with proceeds benefiting the final renovation of the Great Hall of the Union Project. Tickets are available at the café and online both individually and in series. Below is the 2007 performance schedule for Urban Fusion Live. SIGN UP NOW FOR MARCH CLAY CLASSES Union Project will again be offering a Monday evening open studio and a Thursday evening beginning wheel throwing class. Classes begin at the end of March. All class fees include clay and glaze materials. Students enrolled in classes will have the opportunity to utilize the Union Project's new gas reduction kiln. UNION PROJECT VOLUNTEER DAY – MARCH 24 The Union Project welcomes volunteers from 9am-3pm to contribute to a number of landscaping, maintenance, and construction projects. Individuals and groups are both welcome. In addition to novice volunteers, we're looking for a couple of skilled volunteers to take the lead as project coordinators. Landscapers and others with experience in gardening and grounds maintenance -- please call Mel at 412-363-4550 ext. 21. Unskilled volunteers and others interested in helping with these projects should email volunteer@unionproject.org. CALL FOR PGH GLASS ARTISTS The Union Project is seeking artists working in glass and glassware to participate in Margaritas in March (March 23, 2007) and in conjunction with Pittsburgh Celebrates Glass 2007. Pittsburgh Celebrates Glass 2007 is a city-wide celebration of glass and glass art. For its part in Pittsburgh Celebrates Glass 2007, the Union Project is planning to host several events involving and celebrating glass art. Margaritas in March will involve the sale of handmade glasses, margarita tasting and music. Artists will recover 70% of the revenues from the sale of these classes. The remaining 30% of the sales will go the Union Project to help recover the cost of the events and to contribute to the organization’s operational costs.
