Great March events at Union Project
Hi neighbors, We have some great events and activities happening at Union Project in March and we love for you to come and join us. <http://www.unionproject.org/events/empty-bowls-glaze-good-2017> - Did you know Three Rivers Free Clinic for the People <https://www.facebook.com/ThreeRiversClinicForThePeople/> does a free clinic at Union Project every first Wednesday of the month? If not, come check it out this *Wednesday, March 1, 1 - 7 PM*. All is welcome, there is deep massage, meditation session, nutrition and wellness coaching and more. - Empty Bowls Glaze for Good <http://www.unionproject.org/events/empty-bowls-glaze-good-2017> is free pottery glazing event on *Sunday, March 5, 10 - 11:30 AM or 12 - 1:30 PM*. Glaze for Good welcome people from all ages and all skill levels. You will be decorating bowls made by local ceramics artists and enjoy artist clay demonstration by our Artist in Residence Margaret Haden <http://www.margarethaden.com/>. All the bowls created will be fired and donated to Just Harvest and the Pittsburgh Community Food Bank for their annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser. Come make art with us for a good cause! RSVP your free spot here <http://www.unionproject.org/events/empty-bowls-glaze-good-2017>. - Soup N'at <http://www.unionproject.org/events/soup-nat> is an event that raises funds for artists to realize artistic projects on *Sunday, March 12, 6 - 8 PM*. We call out to all artists for project proposals and select around 3-5 artists to present their project. The audience will pay a $10 cash donation at the door to enjoy soup from local restaurant, entertainment, drinks, and a voting ballot to vote for their favorite project. The artist with the highest vote will take home the night's proceed as the seed funding for their art project. Share the news and come support local art! If you have friends interested in submitting a proposal (projects with art component will do), the application <https://soupnat.wordpress.com/submission-guidelines/> deadline is on March 1. - PICT Classic Theatre will be back in Union Project from *March 23 - April 8* with a classic play, Oedipus Rex <http://www.picttheatre.org/play/oedipus-rex/>, by Sophocles and directed by Alan Stanford. Plague has struck the city of Thebes. Good King Oedipus sends for a prophet who determines that an unsolved murder is the cause of the gods’ displeasure. To ensure the arts are accessible to all, UP has a limited amount of free tickets for community members who wouldn't be able to attend otherwise.
