Immaculee is coming to PGH April 3!
Hello, my name is Anna Tang and I am the program assistant for the Center for African Studies at Duquesne University here in Pittsburgh, PA. I am writing to let you know that on April 3, 2018, The Center for African Studies <http://www.duq.edu/about/centers-and-institutes/center-for-african-studies/about-the-center> and Duquesne University are excited and proud to welcome Immaculee Ilibagiza <https://www.immaculee.com/> to our campus and the City of Pittsburgh for the first time! *A link to the event page and to reserve tickets can be found here! <https://www.eventbrite.com/e/immaculee-ilibagiza-a-story-of-faith-hope-and-forgiveness-tickets-42238523561>* Immaculee is a survivor of the horrific 1994 Rwandan Genocide that killed nearly 1 million people in just 100 days. Immaculee miraculously survived 91 days of the genocide while hiding in a 4 x 3-foot bathroom with 7 other women. When she was able to come out of hiding, she found her entire family brutally massacred. She was able to eventually use her Faith to find forgiveness for the killers of her family and friends. She has an inspiring testimony of faith, hope and forgiveness, which sprung from her experience in the genocide. Immaculee is the author of 3 books, including New York Times bestseller *Left to Tell; Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust. *Today, Immaculée is regarded as one of world's leading speakers on faith, hope and forgiveness. She has shared this universal message with world leaders, school children, multinational corporations, churches, and at events and conferences around the world, including a recent presentation to over 200,000 people in Sao Paulo, Brazil. We would like to invite you, along with anyone interested to this powerful talk and book signing event. Rarely does a day go by that her story and her reminder to be kind does not pass my mind. I hope that you will be able to attend and that you can also pass along the invite to anyone you think would be interested. *This is a free event but reserving your space with a ticket is highly encouraged. **A link to reserve tickets can be found here. <https://www.eventbrite.com/e/immaculee-ilibagiza-a-story-of-faith-hope-and-forgiveness-tickets-42238523561> **Donations will be accepted at the door to cover operational costs.* *Schedule of Events:* Doors open at 6:30pm (seating is first come, first serve basis) Immaculee shares her story 7:00pm-8:30pm Book selling/signing with Immaculee to follow *Location:* Duquesne University, A.J.
