Our car was broken into on Saturday night between 11pm and 12:30am -- unfortunately the car was unlocked and my purse was stolen, along with everything inside of it (wallet, checkbook, cell phone, keys, etc). Around 12:30am, we heard a neighbor's car alarm and noticed that our motion detector lights were on, as well as the light in the car. We called 911 and filed a police report. The following day a neighbor found my purse (with everything except my wallet) in the park and returned it to me (thank goodness for good neighbors!). It definitely seems like the work of amateurs, and that Heberton and surrounding streets are being targeted. We are certainly being more vigilant and will be calling the police to report *any* suspicious activity. Hopefully these thieves will be caught soon. Laura and Jim Holtzman Heberton Street, 1300 block
