HI, HP Neighbors, I received the following information and thought one or more people in HP might be interested. The application deadline is February 13. If HP is selected as one of the 3 neighborhoods in Allegheny County, it would bring $7500 in seed money for projects involving older adults to the neighborhood, and there is also a nice stipend for one Neighborhood Ambassador for two years. janet jai, MLA vision-and-values.com Age-Friendly Neighborhoods are good places to grow up and grow old. Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh is seeking neighborhood leaders who want to improve the experiences of older adults and people of all ages in their neighborhood. Three neighborhoods in Allegheny County will be chosen as Age-Friendly Neighborhoods for a two-year term, 2022-2023. Interested neighborhoods can submit an interest form: tinyurl.com/AFNeighborhoods <http://tinyurl.com/AFNeighborhoods>. Due February 13. Selected neighborhoods will be notified in March 2022. Age-Friendly Neighborhoods will lead the creation of intergenerational neighborhood events and projects in collaboration with Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh. This work will promote the identity of your neighborhood as being “Age-Friendly”: a neighborhood that is welcoming for people of all ages and abilities. This initiative seeks to share neighborhood stories both within and outside your neighborhood. Older adult voices will be amplified through creative storytelling, including photography and videography, social media and intergenerational events. $7,500 in seed funds will be provided to support this work each year. Strategic support will be provided to secure possible funding from additional sources. Examples of Age-Friendly Neighborhood work may include community conversations, tech workshops, job training projects and advocacy for safer streets.
