This is a great car, the only reason I'm selling is because I now work from
home and don't need my own car. It's super fun to drive. The car was a
dealer-loaner before I bought it in 2016 and it has only been serviced at

Subject: Gardening class Wednesday: how to identify plants
Have you ever been out walking and seen a really cool plant? You think it's
beautiful, or strange, or unique. Maybe you'd even enjoy having  one in
your yard.

But what the heck IS it??? How will you know what to ask the
nursery/florist/landscaper/greenhouse people for? So, short of stealing it
(bad idea!), or possibly getting cuttings, there's just no way for you to
have it.

Well, what if you could go through a relatively simple process to determine
exactly what it is your looking at?

Trees, shrubs, ferns, wildflowers... What if you could figure out their
names on the spot, or by taking a few specific pictures to reference later?

You can!!!!!

In tonight's class, we'll work on exactly this. We will identify some
plants from twig or leaf & flower samples. You can even bring your own!

You will leave with some reference guides to help you at home, too!

(Note: this is NOT a houseplant ID class.)

Class is 6:30-8:30 pm, and costs $10/person. No cost for those on limited
incomes.

Everyone will leave with some color sheets to help in plant ID, as well as
a tree ID guide. There will be a limited number of other guides--fern,
wildflower, winter tree ID--at a cost of $5 each.

Hello neighbors,

Next Saturday, Aug. 19th at 10 am we have planned a 45 - 60 min. tour of
the new Frick Environmental Center in Squirrel Hill at 2005 Beechwood Blvd.
Reed Hoffmier will be our guide.  He plans to talk about:

  -History of Frick Park
  -Overview of Living Building Challenge/design challenges
  -Native plants
  -Solar Panels/rainwater collection
  -Fountain
  -Geothermal wells
  -interior features (Lighting, windows, reclaimed wood, rain veil, etc.)
  -rain ravine/storm water management
  -plant selection and genetic diversity
