That's a pretty straightforward job, but they did a good job. I've used Park Upholstery on Butler Street to recover a sofa. They are very good, but not necessarily inexpensive and maybe not what you are looking for. Probably worth a call. We've have had good work done over the past 30+ years at Chianelli Upholstering 5440 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 (412) 681-9000 They have repaired broken dinning room chairs, reupholstered two sofas and one chair, and recained a chair seat. We acquired two old cushioned chairs that were upholstered by them in the late 30's or early 40's. For upholstery work, I like T's Upholstery Studio in Lawrenceville on Butler Street. Cindy Kaufmann is very knowledgeable about fabrics and her prices are reasonable. She will come to your home and help with matching colors and styles. Consider T's Upholstery. They have discount fabric and seem to do a good job. I have the best of the best upholsterer named Lee Carrington. He has done 8 diningroom chairs, a sofa, chair and a 3 piece parlor set - he is the best ever and I have used others. Lee's number is 412-665-9663. He will pick up and deliver. He is a perfectionist and does restoration work - he does not cut corners like some do. If you would like to see his work, let me knoow. A Point Breeze friend of mine swears by Joe Brusco in Swissvale -- she has some incredibly elegant furniture which he has done great work on. He is located down south Braddock Ave, right into Swissvale... I think on Monongahela Ave. Lozo Cvitkusic is great. He picks u[ and delivers and is not expensive. His # is 412-884-7404. It all depends on what you are getting done. I have had friends use Gene Sanes down in the Strip and be very very happy. I used Betty's Upholstery down on butler street and her prices are very good and her work is good, but I might think about that antique chair and get the wicker couch stuff done first by her and see if it meets your standards. She does work for some very ritzy homes in fox chapel, but also seems to do work for motorcycles, etc! Nice lady and she was trained by Chianelli who used to be on Centre ave. Betty will also be glad to show you what she does in her showroom down on butler street (near the 62nd st bridge). I don't have her number here, but it is on the sign in front of her building.
