The New Meadow Run Bruderhof in Farmington, PA (about an hour east of here) is hosting a Knitting Fest for Tsunami Relief on Saturday February 19 from 10 AM to 4 PM. This is a great community of folks, and if you've never been exposed to the Bruderhof Communities (pacifist, Christian intentional communities all around the world), I'd recommend meeting them. Their Bruderhof is a beautiful, welcoming place out in the country, and they're always excited to meet new people. They have sent a group to volunteer at the Union Project - that's how we got to know them. They are taking donations of yarn (leftovers, new skeins, etc.) to knit, and will have knitting lessons, raffles, spinning and kids activities on the 19th. They suggest a $5 donation.
