Please see below for the update. See you at the market. David Lagnese ***************************************************** The Update Greenawalt Farm I was not able to connect with Brian but expect he will have items similar to last week which included locally grown sweet corn, zucchini, yellow squash, pickle cucumbers, radishes, green onions, peaches, lettuce, swiss chard, blueberries. Brian always has a few surprises because he visits with a variety of Amish farmers on Fridays to pick up items for the market. Check out their fresh cut herbs such as chives and mint. In addition they will have locally grown eggs and their normal selection of Amish made products. J.L. KENNEDY MEAT STAND Special items for this week include: - LAMB...bone- in or boneless leg of lamb still available..also...lamb stew or shoulder roast...shanks - PASTURE-RAISED ROASTERS...last chance for several weeks - PORK SHOULDER ROASTS from Kennedy show hogs Phone hours are mon- thurs 9-9 and 9-6 pm on friday. Also, get some local blueberries and blackberries- they are only here for a short time. BANDY Woodworks ... I mentioned them last week but want to mentione them again. Bandy Woodworks is a local business that makes children's toys, custom furniture, and other great items for the home (cutting boards, etc). They make them out of local reclaimed and salvaged wood and use non-toxic finishes. Their booth is on the right when you walk in the front door, directly across from Greenawalt's. Preview some of the items carried at the market by visiting www.bandywoodworks.etsy.com. Christopher Bandy, the maker, will be at the market this week if you'd like to speak with him about custom projects. California Olive Oil Connection This is the time of year that I really love olive oil because it goes so well with all these locally grown veggies. I like to use ths spicier oils raw poured on slads and blanched vegetables. I also like to roast all sorts of veggies (including onions and garlic) drizzled with lots of olive oil. We have six varieties of California grown, certified extra virgnin olive oil available. This is the real thing, not the fake, adulterated stuff. The Greek Gourmet- will have homemade spinach and meat pies to the market each week- in addition to 20+ flavors of hummus. Stop by and talk to Jack at the booth. PA Made Cheese- We will have fresh curds and a fresh shipment of goat cheese from Riverview Dairy. We will have chev, feta and Purple Goat varieties. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Please visit the market's website for information on the market and all the vendors.
