TONIGHT - HPCC Special Meeting, Thur 12/17: Community Dialogue on Countering Anti-Semitism
On the second night of Chanukah, a home in Highland Park was vandalized with anti-Semitic graffiti and the homeowner's car windscreen was smashed. While all the necessary calls to law enforcement were made (and the perpetrator is being sought), many of us are still processing the fact that this hate crime happened in our neighborhood. Join us for a community dialogue and information session led by Maggie Feinstein, Executive Director of the *10.27 Healing Partnership*. The *10.27 Healing Partnership* was created in the aftermath of the Tree of Life shooting to support community members in the aftermath of the attack as well as other victims of hate crimes. For more information on their services and resources, click here: https://1027healingpartnership.org/ At this meeting, we'll make space to share information, process the emotional and communal impact of this horrific act, and imagine how we as neighbors can show up for each other when things like this happen. We're making plans to follow up this initial conversation with a formal training on how to be an ally and build resilience in our neighborhood mid-January - so stay tuned for that! This meeting is public and intended for community members. To protect people's privacy, it will not be recorded and should be considered "off the record." *What: * Community Dialogue and Info Session *When:* Thurs. Dec 16, 7-8pm *Who:* Maggie Feinstein, director of the 10.27 Healing Partnership, together with HP neighbor Helen Blier *Where*: Zoom - Register in advance for this meeting here: https://pitt.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJElce2hpzgiH9ZkNRwiq7HAccHRVhSuY1eF After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. We are all in this together, friends. The measure of a neighborhood is not whether awful things like this happen because they can happen everywhere - what matters is the way the neighbors step up and respond when they do. Hope to see you next Thursday. -- Click here to visit our website <https://hpccpgh.org/>
