[Highland Park] 1/18 Waldorf School Open House and 5th/6th Grade Scholarship Opportunities
The Waldorf School of Pittsburgh (located in neighboring Friendship and accessible from Highland Park by schoolbus) is having an Open House for interested parents on Wednesday, January 18, at 5:30 p.m. Please come and check it out! More information about the school can also be found on the school's website: www.waldorfpittsburgh.org Having long offered programs from preschool through 5th grade, the school is in the process of expanding to include a middle school, with the current 6th grade class being the first class to go all the way to 8th grade. As part of the middle school expansion project, the school is actively seeking to enroll students in all classes, and in the current 5th grade (next year's 6th grade) in particular. Financial aid is available at all grade levels, and the school is particularly committed to offering whatever scholarships are necessary to fill out the current 5th grade/next year's 6th grade class. If you have a child entering middle school next year, and you are interested in Waldorf education, but have held back out of financial concerns, I strongly encourage you to consider applying. Tuition should not be a barrier. My son is in the current 5th grade class, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the program. If you have any questions, or to RSVP for the Open House, you can contact Devon Wood, the school's Enrollment Coordinator, at (412)441-5792. Or, if you are interested in getting a parent's perspective, feel free to shoot me an email and we can set up a time to talk. Alex West
