[Highland Park] Polish and Russian translations
Hello neighbors! I recently needed a translation of a family document in Polish. I contacted Marie Hall (mjhall1126@comcast.net). She did a superb job in a week. I thought that the document gave my grandmother permission to emigrate from Austria (I can read German, but I am hopeless in Polish). She came from a Ukrainian area that was then Austrian, but is now part of Poland. It turned out to be a school report card from 1910. Still, it added to my family history. The document recommended that my grandmother continue her education in a secondary school for scientific studies. My grandmother told me that she wanted to continue her education, that her father refused, and that they had a huge argument She arrived at Ellis within a month after the date of this document. The translation confirmed her story. And, yes, she got good grades. If you have anything in Polish or Russian that you would like to have translated, then I highly recommend Marie Hall. I knew enough about translation to search the American Translator Association site. If you have anything in any other language, then search this site for a certified translator. ATA has high standards of competence, ethics, and reasonable fees. I hope this helps you, Jan
