Every Monday evening at 7:30 in the Atrium of the Union Project, we will be looking at how race and discrimination affects our relationships and communities today. Our event to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on January 16th (300 people!!) was the introduction to this important series. Please join us. February 6th: Crash: A viewing of the movie and discussion to follow February 13th: The Difficulty of Loving Across our Differences -eavesdropping on a conversation with a white and African-American pastor who have been wrestling through their differences in ministry and friendship. The Union Project is seeking full time staff positions for a café manager and assistant managers Job Requirements: Self-starter with strong initiative. 2+ years of experience in management and financial experience a requirement. Strong entrepreneurial spirit. Strong organization, management, problem-solving, and delegation skills. Competent knowledge of (or ability to learn) necessary management and sales software. Ability to work independently and cooperatively with other Union Station and Union Project staff and members of the general public. Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include early morning, evening and weekend hours. Ability to work well with all ages of children and youth. Ability and experience in networking with a diverse constituency. Strong leadership, customer service, interpersonal and professional skills. Personal car/transportation required. Created by nonprofits for nonprofits, Ebase is designed for nonprofit executives, fundraisers, activist organizers, database administrators and technology consultants. Ebase version 2.12 is available as a free download from www.ebase.org. This basic one-day course will get you up to speed using Ebase 2 and Chickadeebase. We will cover how to get around, where to find things, data, basic data entry, basic reporting and move on to choosing what data to enter, how to use Ebase Items and codes to store virtually any kind of information and then how to find it again. We will explore how Ebase can be used to run a sample combined activist issue and fundraising campaign. Chickadeebase follows that with an updated FileMaker 8 version using similar look and feel and data structure as Ebase 2. This class is taught by Clif Graves of Clif Graves Consulting. Clif has been lead developer for Ebase version 1.03 and version 2 and is developer of Chickadeebase. Clif has presented at numerous national conferences, taught at all levels from adult education to college level. He is a trained Total Quality Trainer and brings that perspective to his trainings. Clay Classes Starting @ Union Project The Union Project clay studio is up and running. New classes have been announced! Upcoming classes include a bowl making workshop, beginning throwing, mosaic mural installation, and majolica glazing. Volunteers Needed Union Project is in need of a skilled carpenter to spend 10-12 hours working on shelf construction and door framing. We have also announced upcoming Saturday workdays. The Union Project needs volunteers on the following dates March 4 - 9 am to 3 pm April 1 - 9 am to 3 pm May 6 - 9 am to 3 pm We’ll also need volunteers during weekdays to help with painting, staining, and installing data lines.
