[Highland Park] 2 bd apartment for rent in HP
*2 Bedroom apartment available July 1st. Rent is $650/month, equal to the deposit. * This cozy apartment accommodates an individual or couple with few belongings comfortably. The living room has a stained glass window inlay and large flat window that looks onto the porch and a faux fireplace which has been repainted to look like adobe. The smaller, second "bedroom" has a window but no closet, so suits well as an office. The master bedroom has a generous closet, and the bathroom has a tiled shower + ceramic bathtub. The kitchen has all basic appliances, including a relatively new gas stove. The ceramic tiled floor was laid upon an uneven wood panel board, and can be replaced with linoleum at your request -- I had the same option, but it hasn't gotten worse over the last year. Most of the rooms have been repainted in a bright colorway over older, exterior paint. Radiator heat is centrally controlled, and there is no air-conditioning in this 1920s style brick home duplex. You can bring a window unit or two if you want. This ground floor unit has a porch and small backyard patio, with some space for growing plants -- good soil for growing herbs! All utilities are included, except electricity which only costs $20-80 a month with your window AC on in the hot, humid months. No pets allowed. I've lived here for over a year while searching for another apartment (this one doesn't have a garage nor much storage), and was really hoping to stay in Highland Park. There is plenty of street parking available, 71c busline on the corner, a couple blocks from bike routes and the park. The landlords, organic market, café and new restaurants have all made this community a welcoming home for me. The upstairs neighbors are friendly, as well as next door. Please call the current tenant to schedule time to view the apartment after business hours, and check out the neighborhood while you're here. Here's the Craigslist ad, with more photos: http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/apa/3029214902.html. Please feel free to email me with questions, or to schedule a visit. Thanks, Eryn Mellon St.
