Jason Strcula and Juliette Murcko's office in Lawrenceville/Bloomfield, right across from the Children's Hospital. A dentist who will do root canals is practicing outside of their scope. An endodontist is specialized in root canals. If you need a complicated extraction, you may need an oral surgeon. The dentist can then do the restorative work (crown, implant, etc.). I can recommend my endodontist - Rick Smith at Associated Dental Specialists. I go to the Oakland office, which is a little low-rent, but they have taken good care of me - 3 root canals this year!!! Yikes! http://www.ads-endo.com/ I can NOT recommend my dentist. Julie Chetlin on Craig Street. She bought the practice last year from my long-time dentist. I have given it a year and we are not a good fit. I find her to be snotty with her staff as well as me. Also, I have had many choices to make this year, with all this dential work, and she will not provide education when offering choices and options. Her answer to everything I ask is "Well it's up to you. I don't really know." Like I said, she is snotty. So, I am in the market for a new dentist. He does crowns and root canal and works with an associate who is a dental surgeon in cases where surgery is necessary. His office is in Squirrel Hill but well worth the trip.
