Hi everyone, I've been recycling since I moved into the city, but I'm not sure which plastics can go in the bin. Where I used to live we could only recycle plastics with a 1 or 2 on the bottom, but I've had a lot of containers lately with 5's and 6's on them. Could somebody reply and let me know which types of plastics I can recycle here? Thanks! Jessica Sutara
The thing I got in the mail at the beginning of the year says 1-5; that's what we've been putting in. I see a lot of 6's so I hope they start taking those soon! Gregory On Thu, 6 Apr 2006, Jessica Sutara wrote:

Below is a link to the City's pickup schedule for 2006. We are in the Central Collection area. This tells you what you can put out on trash day, in addition to the drop-off locations. http://www.city.pittsburgh.pa.us/pw/assets/2006_central_collection_schedule.... In addition, paper can be dropped off at the Union Project and St. Raphael School (in Morningside). I am sure there are other non-profits collecting paper, but these are the ones I am aware of. Hi All, I just found out today that the Zoo has a paper recycling program that takes more than just newspaper. They also accept junkmail, catalogs, magazines, officepaper, construction paper, and notebooks. No cardboard or telephone books though. The money they get for every ton collected goes toward their conservation efforts. For more information, check out their webiste: http://www.pittsburghzoo.com/zoo.asp?ContentID=212 Sorry I couldn't help more with the plastics but at least I learned that we could now include 4s and 5s in our blue bag recycling. Thanks! Construction Junction takes magazines, corrugated cardboard, and they used to take phone books. I think they still do. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judith Lesso" <jlesso@hotmail.com> To: <bob.63@netzero.net>; <jmsutara@verizon.net>; <neighborhood@highlandpark.pgh.pa.us> Sent: Friday, April 07, 2006 1:44 PM Subject: Re: [Highland Park] Recycling

And there is Construction Junction at Meade and Lexington in North Point Breeze. They take everything, and have some interesting stuff to sell too. On 4/7/06 1:44 PM, "Judith Lesso" <jlesso@hotmail.com> wrote:
