Hello fellow Highland Park residents: This message is in part a follow up to the "abandoned houses" issue, but also fits into the wider issue of properties being neglected by owners. Personally, I have grown very tired of watching the decay of properties in the 800 and 900 block of North Saint Clair Street (and some nearby). So, I have initiated a civil suit against 12 defendants, all of whom are property owners. If you would like to obtain a copy of the suit (and track its progress) you can use the internet to do so. Just follow these steps: 1) Go to http://dcr.alleghenycounty.us/ 2) Click on the "Case Search" tab. 3) Enter the case number: AR-09-008247. 4) Click OK. I have also communicated my concerns to city officials. Thank you, Paul
Hello on this lovely day, I am just getting into sewing and would like to get a machine. I was wondering if there were any tips from the stitchers in the community for what type of machine would be good for a beginner? This method really works! When I lived in Oakland, CA, a group of neighbors (of which I was one) got a nuisance landlord totally shut down by pursing him time after time in Small Claims Court. He lost every time and eventually gave up. It does require persistence, however. I am too far away in HP to participate, but those of you closer should band together and go after them--relentlessly.
