Dear Neighbors, I am emailing to ask you to consider a donation towards an online SAT prep program we are launching in January. The online part (using webinar technology) is the new part as this will allow us to expand in PA--with a particular focus on financially distressed school districts-- as we seek to make SAT tutoring accessible to all; regardless of their financial situation. Note: we have already helped 14 students in the immediate Pittsburgh area. We have 3 schools committed to sponsor and host the program; Ambridge, Brashear (part of Pittsburgh PS) and Obama Academy. Each school will recruit a minimum of 5 students to participate. In addition to the schools, we have almost 20 students interested in participating on a direct basis; i.e. from their home. Many of the students have impressive grades and wonderful potential, but they need to improve their SAT scores to (1) realize their 'reach' school and (2) improve their odds of securing financial aid.
