Hi all, The second Highland Park Community Festival is in the books! Brenda Cole, festival organizer, and I would like to thank all who helped put the festival on and who attended the festival. The goal of the festival was to provide exposure to a broad and diverse set of artists, vendors, children's activities and local organizations that would allow visitors to learn, have fun, take advantage of local resources and get a bite to eat, too. The festival has its origins in policy recommendations contained in the Highland Park Community Plan. We'd like your feedback regarding the festival's goals, planning, execution as well as general impressions. This will help local organizations figure out what worked and what didn't. This will also help local organizations decide whether to have a similar festival next year and if so the theme and mission this event ought to have. (For the time being, if the volume of messages on this topic is not too large, we can continue the discussion via this email list.
